Danie Marais was born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1978 and grew up mostly in Namibia. He studied art at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein and now resides on the Western Coast near Cape Town. 

Danie is a full time artist, and his work comprises mainly still life, landscapes, portraits, figures, nature and wild life. He works with mixed mediums and his art is on display at several galleries throughout South Africa and Namibia.
